These terms explain the deal between you and Olonkho (operated by Techdab LLC, “we,” “us”). By reserving a Life Story or using olonkho.net, you agree to them. We've kept them plain.
Olonkho creates a keepsake — an edited hardcover book and narrated audio — from interviews with the person you choose (the “storyteller,” usually your parent). An AI interviewer named Eon conducts gentle recorded conversations, and a human editor shapes the result. Every word in the finished keepsake is the storyteller's own. We never invent memories and never generate speech in anyone's voice. We make the keepsake, not a digital replica of a person.
You reserve a spot with a $20 deposit. This deposit is fully refundable at any time before you approve and pay for the finished keepsake. If you continue, the deposit is applied to your total. To request a refund of the deposit, email hello@olonkho.net and we'll return it.
After the first interviews, we'll send you a sample first chapter in the storyteller's words and voice. You only pay the remaining balance if you approve it. If it doesn't sound like them, you owe nothing beyond what's already refundable, and we part ways with no hard feelings.
The full keepsake starts at $149, with higher tiers for more sessions, longer audio, and additional copies. We'll show you the exact price for your chosen tier before you commit beyond the deposit. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we don't store your card details.
We only proceed with the storyteller's willing participation. They may decline any question, pause, take breaks, or keep material private. Nothing is printed without the storyteller's approval. You confirm that you have the storyteller's agreement to take part before sessions begin.
Once paid, the finished book and audio recordings belong to your family. You may keep, copy, and pass them down within your family for personal, non-commercial use. We do not publish, sell, or share your keepsake or recordings with anyone.
We craft each keepsake with care, but it is a personal, creative work, not a legal, medical, financial, or genealogical record. We don't guarantee historical accuracy beyond what the storyteller tells us. Olonkho is not a crisis or mental-health service; if someone is in danger or distress, please contact local emergency or support services.
Interviews and editing take time, and we won't rush the storyteller. We'll give you a realistic timeline and do our best to meet any occasion you tell us about, but we can't guarantee exact delivery dates.
The $20 deposit is refundable until you approve the first chapter and pay the balance. After you approve and pay, production begins and balance payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we've made a clear error — in which case we'll make it right.
Please use Olonkho honestly and respectfully. Don't use it to capture content that is unlawful, or to record someone without their consent.
We may update these terms as the product grows. Material changes will be posted here, and the deal in place when you reserved continues to apply to that reservation.
